Archipel is a pilot project co-funded by the EU and lead by the Institut Français, in partnership with the Overseas Countries and Territories Association and the Agência de Promoção da Cultura Atlântica. The project aims to preserve and promote the culture of the European Union’s outermost regions and overseas countries and territories.

The fund supports the physical and virtual mobility of culture-sector professionals and artists in the outermost regions of the European Union (ORs), the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) and throughout the European Union.
- To improve communication between the ORs, the OCTs and the European Union as a whole.
- To encourage mobility, exchange and cooperation between culture and creative sector professionals.
- To promote, preserve and foster knowledge of the local cultures of the ORs and OCTs through exchange.
- To explore the use of digital technology to promote culture and intercultural dialogue, thereby raising awareness about cultural diversity and building bridges between communities.
Supports the cross communication and mobility between the EU and ORs and OCTs.
Who is it for?
Artists (Performing arts, music, visual arts, design, architecture, digital creation and others), groups of artists and/or culture-sector professionals legally residing in the ORs or
OCTs who submit applications on as individuals.

Duration of stay
Mobility projects must be 7 to 15 days in length and occur between January 1, 2022 and February 1, 2023.
Financing amounts
Depending the projects, the programme covers costs for:
Physical Exchnages: Transportation, Daily allowances
Online Exchanges: Registration fees for on line or hybrid events
